CTQ Level 2 Award in Safeguarding Infants & Children (Early Years)

The CTQ Level 2 Award in Safeguarding Infants and Children (Early Years) is designed for individuals working with children in early years settings, where safeguarding training is a legal requirement (such as for those working under the EYFS framework in schools). This qualification provides learners with essential knowledge about safeguarding responsibilities and how to identify and respond to concerns of abuse or neglect.

This 6-hour qualification covers key legislation, the responsibilities of adults working with children, and how to recognise different types of abuse and their indicators. Learners will also gain skills in handling disclosures and accessing local children’s services to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.

It meets the requirements of the Department for Education’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and the latest government safeguarding policies, including the "Keeping Children Safe in Education" guidance.

Successful learners may progress to the CTQ Level 3 Award in the Role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
