CTQ Level 3 Award in Forest School First Aid for Early Years

The CTQ Level 3 Award in Forest School First Aid for Early Years is designed for individuals with a specific responsibility to provide first aid in a Forest School setting. This unique qualification is ideal for Forest School Practitioners (Level 3), Forest School Assistants (Level 2), and Forest School Support Staff (Level 1) who work with babies, infants, and children in outdoor environments.  

This qualification incorporates the Paediatric First Aid course content within it.

Developed with Forest School practitioners and first aid experts, this qualification prepares learners to respond effectively to first aid situations that may arise in a Forest School setting, ensuring they are equipped to deal with the unique challenges of outdoor education.

This 16-hour qualification covers a broad range of outdoor first aid situations, providing learners with the knowledge and skills needed to assess, prioritise actions, and deliver first aid for children in a Forest School setting.  

This qualification meets and exceeds the criteria set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for a Paediatric First Aid course, and requirements from Ofsted, the Department for Education, and Welsh Government.  It is also mapped to the IOL Statement of Good Practice on Outdoor First Aid at Band 3.
